Snowy Morning - Apple Dumplings

There was a fresh layer of snow on the ground this morning when I woke up. It seemed like a good morning to make apple dumplings. A friend of Hubby's had given us a box of apples. They are a cross variety that he grows himself. Daughter Stephanie recently gave me an easy recipe for apple dumplings. Ingredients: container crescent rolls, apples peeled and cored, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup orange juice, 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Peel and core apples.
Put sugar, butter, orange juice, and cinnamon in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Add the vanilla.

Separate crescent rolls into 8 pieces of pastry.
Grease pan (I use cooking spray)
Wrap apple slices in individual crescent rolls and pour liquid mixture over it.
Bake 30 minutes. Hubby and I tried them warm. Delicious!!!

Good, good Sunday morning, Sweetie..I am up early (5:15) and your delicious looking Apple Dumplings are about to drive me nuts as I wait for my coffee to make. Now, what in the world am I going to have for breakfast that will come even CLOSE to these dumplings ???? I will sure have them for MONDAY morning, tho..Yummy..

oh, and noticing your profile, one of my all time favorite movies is SUMMER PLACE. When it came out, I bought the record (a 45) of it and played it until it wore out, bought another, wore it out...I think I bought 4 in all and to this day, The Theme from Summer Place is one of my favorites. In fact, I will put it on my blog this morning.....:O)
Have a wonderful Sunday...and you and your hubby eat every one of those dumplings!!

Sweetie, I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble with your shoulder. They wouldn't give me a
cortisone shot until I had a MRI.
I never dreamed shoulder pain could be so bad. I actually ended up with a frozen shoulder. That was not fun!! Are you going for PT?? Keep me informed how you are doing. The heating pad followed by ice became a very good friend of mine. What happened to your shoulder??? Hugs, Terrie

Sweetie, I just came over from Sue's Can We Talk. I am so sorry I confused you. She's not my real sister. A few of us from RMS have always called each other sis. My real true to life sister doesn't have a personal blog. She does show up under my bloglist as Katfish Ponders. It is a interesting blog. But, I don't write personal things to her there. I am trying to get her to start a personal blog.
xoxo Terrie

I've eaten these before and they are so-o good. I like them better if the apples are soft enough to cook well and not stay crunchy.
Snow, wow, I'm happy with our 50 degree weather.
