Blue Christmas

Happy Blue Monday!
Blue is my very favorite color. However, I don't think that I'd want an entirely blue Christmas tree
I do like blue Christmas baubles...
And blue glittery ornaments...

My favorite blue of the Christmas season is Elvis Presley's Blue Christmas. I was fortunate to buy this album at an auction. We have a CD/record player that is a replica of a vintage phonograph. I love to play this album on the record player. The music isn't today's quality - but it's beautiful. It brings back memories of Christmases gone by.
I’ll have a blue Christmas without you
I’ll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won’t be the same dear, if you’re not here with me
And when the blue snowflakes start falling
That’s when those blue memories start calling
You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue Christmas
You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas

Hi there, Sweetie!

I'm popping in to wish you a Happy Blue Monday! I'm with you, I like a little more color in my tree, but my best friend has a white tree with blue ornies in her living room. She has a regular tree in her family room, but the blue and white one with silver thrown in for good measure is really lovely. I'm for a mix for my own tree.

Please count this as one of my shots at your drawing, and thanks much!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Happy Blue Monday! I love, love, love ELVIS !!! I even have one of his songs in my playlist (sigh*). Love your blue today. Especially Elvis, of course :0)

Oh, Sweetie, I grew up loving Elvis...and will always love him.
I have Blue Christmas playing on my blog but it's Mr. Johnny Cash singing to us today. I love him always, too...
I am like you ....I wouldn't want an all blue tree. My tree is always red and white, with lots of Santas on it.
I do love the blue ornaments, tho.

I wouldn't want an all-blue tree either, but I think a white tree w/ blue lights and ornaments would be fun for something different, as long as I could still have my traditional tree!

I used to drool over Elvis when I was a teen. However, right now I hear Johnny Mathias, and he is my all-time favorite commercial singer. (My husband and son are my favorite non-commercial singers!) Happy Blue Day!

Good Morning Sweetie,

I love listening to Elvis singing Blue Christmas, what a great song!!! Blue used to be one of my favorite colors. I have changed over to brown!! Happy Monday!!

Blue ornaments on a white would be pretty. I love you blue ornaments. I have to say I never got into the singing stars very much. Probably because I am hearing impaired and could never understand the words they sing. I am always out of the loop when it comes to songs. Unless I have the words in front of me.

Hi:
I love blue, but like you, I don't think I would like a blue tree. I like the old fashion red and green for decorating.
That song is one of my favorites and I am not crazy about Elvis. Only some songs.
Hope you are having a good day.
Nancy

I was a huge Elvis fan as a kid - so was my mom. She helped me amass an enormous scrapbook with Elvis photos and articles. But then when I abandoned the King for the Beatles in the '60s, Mom promptly threw out all my Elvis memorabilia! Altho' I think I've still got the Christmas album in storage somewhere. Thanks for reminding me of it. And happy Blue Monday!

I love blue as well...we have blue lights on the house (in honor of my brother officers still on the job) and it makes the house look snowy...I love your blue ornaments...and the pic of Elvis...do you think there will ever come a day that some child asks "who's that?"

I love anything that Elvis sings. I was just telling my children on Thanksgiving that I remember when Elvis appeared on the Ed Sullivan show for the first time and my parents thought it was the most vulgar thing they had ever seen! You just can't beat that voice of his.

"People look east" was our closing hymn yesterday as well. That is interesting that it was the same. As the organist yesterday, I got to play that one. Great hymn.

Lovely blue and of course I love Elvis. Everybody in my generation did. He was just a couple of years older than me. He died way too young.
Hope you had a happy Blue Monday.

Christmas trees need to be green - but with lots of blue baubles on it! :)

Thank you for stopping by for some snowman soup and for your sweet comment. Your blue tree reminded me of a neighbor we had when I was growing up. She had a blue tree! It was a soft sort of pale blue strung with white lights and blue glass balls. I always thought is was fascinatingly beautiful because it was so different. I hope your day is anything but blue!

Love the blue and silver on a tree, but I have always been more of the sentimental old-fashioned type. I have so many antiques and family heirlooms, that I would miss them if I didn't see them at least once a year!

My DH loves Elvis and he loves that song! That blue tree is awesome too!

What a wonderful blog you have!!!! Fun! Have you heard Elvis' new CD out this year for Christmas? Elvis Duets... they have put him together with Martina, leanne Rhimes, Wynonna, Carrie Underwood and other country artists... it is very good. There is a video of Martina and Elvis and it is so neat the way they have made her look out of the 60s and singing with him.

Ok... off to more of your blog!
