Sweet Comment Award and Addie's

CJ of the Purple Diva's Diary presented the "Sweet" Comment Award" to me. Please pay her a visit. She's all decked out for the Holidays.

On Monday Daughter Sheila asked me to go with her while she ran a few errands. She especially wanted me to see a shop that I had never visited. The name of the shop is "Addie's" The name in itself is intriguing because our daughters called my mother "Addie." Over the years others picked up the nickname for Mom and she was known as "Addie" by almost everyone. We really enjoyed our visit to Addie's. When we arrived the owner was stocking the shelves. She is such a lovely woman. I wish that I would have asked her name. She really believes in the "green movement" as do I. Also, many of the things that are sold at the shop are made by local crafts persons. The owner gives each new customer a bar of goats' milk soap that she makes herself. I asked her if I could take some pictures. I will post more later.

The shop has a vast array of lovely things. Don't these look like real cupcakes?
There are angels, glassware, and figurines.

There is lovely jewelry.

The goblets are hand painted. I may splurge after the holidays and purchase four.

These are shelves of seasonings and mixes.

There are exquisite angels and sweet smelling tarts.

I love these rockers and the fresh smell of the handmade wreaths.

Daughter Sheila, Granddaughter Mallory, and I sat in front of the shop. The owner was nice enough to take our picture.
This is my 97th post. All my friends that submit comments between now and my 100th post are eligible for the drawing. Each time you comment, an entry is made into the drawing. If you do not have a blog, please leave your e-mail address.

I love to go to a shop like that, it had to smell so good with all the evergreens around. I also like to buy the little bags of spices and teas. Thanks for sharing the shop with us.

Hugs,
Chris

Hi Sweetie! How about I just sneak into your home and 'borrow' the rollar skate ornament? Think the giveaway winner would miss it? Unless it is me and I would... :)

Hugs ~
Heidi

P.S. ~ congratulations on your award!

First of all, I love your picture with your Daughter and Granddaughter.
That shop looks so wonderful. I bet you could browse for a long time. Heidi loves your roller skate ornament and is now wondering where she can get metal bobbins to make one. LOL. Did you buy it or make it?

I put you on my blogroll (finally!), and I hope you do the same for me.

As I looked through this lovely shop I could almost smell the pine and for some reason gingerbread! It looks absolutely lovely and to have it the same name as what your kids called your mother makes it even more special to visit! I liked the picture they took of you and your family outside too. What a fun girls trip out!

Where, exactly, is that shop "Addie's" located -what town? Looks like one I'd love to visit. On another note, have you by any chance gone up to State College to see the "Festival of Trees" at the Ag Arena? It's fantastic! I blogged about going there Friday night with the two little grandkids and my daughter -even got some pictures of some of the trees and posted them too!
