Bloomin' Tuesday

Happy Bloomin' Tuesday

Our weekend trip to Williamsburg, Virginia was wonderful. Upon our arrival we had dinner at Captain George's Seafood Restaurant. This is the entrance with the lovely fall leaf wreaths on the doors.
This display of pumpkins was outside the restaurant.

On Saturday morning my sister, Cis, and I took a walk. Our hubbies chose to sit it out. It was wonderful seeing the people dressed as in colonial times. These are some of the living plant life that we saw. It's difficult to believe that just six hours away, at our homes in Pennsylvania, plant life is over until next spring.

These are beautiful miniature roses and ornamental grass.

The nasturtiums are lovely.

Pansies are the first plants that I plant in the spring. In Virginia they are hardy fall plants.
Cis and I think that this planter is filled with coleus.
Could these be holly berries? The leaves are larger than my holly bushes.
It was wonderful to get away for a few days. I only have one sister and she is my best friend. It's great that our husbands are friends and have so much in common. They are both nature lovers and enjoy hunting, fishing, and just being in the "wilds" of Pennsylvania.
Thank you, Jean of http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com/ for hosting Bloomin' Tuesday. We're hoping that Bloomin' Tuesday will continue during the cooler months. Please visit Jean to see more beautiful blooms.

It makes me smile that you love flowers so much, I do too, but I don't know a lot about them. I just love the beauty. :)

Hi Sweetie...Thanks for sharing something pretty to take our minds off politics for at least a moment.
I always wished I had a sister.

What a wonderful visit you had with your sister. You were only about 20 minutes from where I live. :) Gorgeous blooms today!

Williamsburg is such a great place.
The plants are so pretty. It is amazing in America how you can go a relatively short distance and things change so much.
Have a great day.

Love the flowers and I am glad that you have a sister to be your best friend. My sis disowned us years ago.
Glad that you had a great time also.

Hi and thanks for the visit to my little cottage. So sorry to here about your daughter on your sidebar. You have a lovely family picture as your header. Glad you could take a walk with your sister and so good that the men have a lot in common.

I'm not sure I saw any Coleus in the pictures.
We usually plant our Pansies in November and they bloom through our Winter and into early Spring. we usually dig them up about April and plant our Impatiens then.
Honey Bear and I went to Williamsburg years ago. We didn't stay near the old towne. He has always wanted to go back and stay at the Admiral Benbow Inn, I believe it is called.
You are lucky that you and your sister can be so close and compatible.

Lovely blooms. It's to nice to see others' gardens, especially since all I had to show was dried leaves and some moss. Thank you!
