Bloomin' Tuesday

It's difficult to say good-bye to the warm days and long evenings of summer. Summer flowers are almost gone. The days are shorter and there is a briskness in the air. It's time to welcome fall. The beautiful colors of fall are beginning to come into their own.

We went to the greenhouse for mums and to the pumpkin patch for pumpkins. I am trying to integrate the surviving summer flowers with the beauty of the colorful chrysanthemums.

I replaced a basket of petunias with these beautiful chrysanthemums.

When we get closer to Halloween, my grandchildren will carve the pumpkins so we can set the lighted Jack 'o Lanterns out for "Trick or Treat."

I have two baskets of this beauty.

This pot of chrysanthemums was a gift from my good friend, Elaine. Thanks to Jean of http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com/ for hosting Bloomin' Tuesday. To see more beautiful blooms, please visit her.

It makes you wonder what's more beautiful, the colors of spring or the colors of fall? Love your choice of mums.

OHHH now you're making me jealous. I look outside and all my color is gone gone gone. I'm gonna have to break down and buy a couple baskets of mums just to cheer things up. Autumn is beautiful but I hate to lose all the flowers :[ Have a wonderful day!

You've chosen very striking color combinations - beautiful! I really love the container of flowers in the upper left of your first photo - are those petunias? If so, they're stunning.

Nice China pictures! LOL. I was telling CJ that I have a barrel that needs pumpkins and gourds. I should probably get some mums to spruce things up around here. We could use a face-lift after the storm. It still looks like summer but autumn is very close by. Time for to go on my annual search for the perfect "two roads diverged in a yellow wood" picture.

You are all dressed up for fall now. It looks great. Do kids try to smash pumkins where you live? Sometimes they do here. Have a great day.

Such a beautiful display those mums and pumpkins make! Pumpkins aren't ready here yet, it will be another couple of weeks before they are. I want to look for a couple of potted mums like you have so will need to go the nursery nearby and see if they have any:-) xoxo

Oh, Sweetie..your blooms are just beautiful.
Our grandkids carve pumpkins, too, and we get them all set up outside on Halloween...then I add a candle (in a container) to ea. Jack-o-Lantern...then, I stand back and say BOOOOOOOOO and they all giggle, run and holler.
I just LOVE Halloween and never, ever associated it with something evil. When I was a child, Halloween was my 2nd fav. holiday. My Aunt Lillian and my momma would dress me up to high heaven...I just loved it all and we had so much fun.
love, bj

me again...just wanted to say i just noticed your favorite movies and a couple are my favorites, too. DIRTY DANCING is just the best movie! i don't even know how many times i've watched it...and i have wondered over and over about WHY i like it so much. Patrick S. was never a favorite...I really didn't even know Linda Gray before this movie...i do love the music in it and it's just such a heartwarming love story...now, i've got myself wanting to watch it again. heh heh.....
