Bloomin' Tuesday

On Saturday, our daughter Stephanie, and I enjoyed the flowers in the beautiful small town of Allensville. Although Allensville is in Amish country, the Amish reside on farms in the area known as Big Valley. Many of the residents of Allensville are Mennonite and their ethic of hard work is evident.

Notice the laundry hanging on the porch.

Washtubs filled with beautiful flowers adorn almost every home on the road going through Allensville.

All of the posts on the main road going through Allensville have beautiful hanging baskets.

More laundry tubs.

For more beautiful blooms, visit Jean at http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com/.

The Mennonite and Amish do a wonderful job of decorating with flowers. That is the one thing that stood out to me when I moved to Lancaster County twenty years ago.
I loved your virtual tour through the town of Allensville.

Wonderful blooms in Allensville. I love the washtubs, they are so huge. Those stands they sit on really make a statement.

Oh my goodness, these photos are luscious! I love each one. That first photo with the flower beds lining the walk and then the rocking chairs on the porch. Wow... I'm almost ready to convert.

I just read your comment on my blog. We continue to have things in common. I have almost 400 snowmen of all sizes. The stuffed ones come out in October and sit all up and down my steps. You can see them on a long ago blog entry. My tree is all snowmen.
The flowers are so beautiful. All of the Amish in our area have the most beautiful lawns and flowers.
Don't you just love seeing their clothes on the line. I have not see them use the washtubs here. Hope you are having a good day.
