We visited the wax museum. I have been there at least a dozen times and enjoy it more each time. The wax figures are so realistic and there is movement in some of them. The grand finale is a reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg.
We toured the Jenny (Mary Virginia) Wade Museum. She was the only civilian killed in Gettysburg during the war. She was making bread for the troops when a shot went through two doors and killed her. The house has actually been documented as being haunted.
This is the basement of the Jenny Wade Museum.
We took Brooke and Mallory to several shops. I couldn't resist temptation and bought a beautiful blue and white plate. I will post it later with some of my other treasures. The girls decided upon hoodies. We ate at a wonderful restaurant that had a Civil War period atmosphere. Of course, we made a few stops for snacks along the way. We all had a great day!
We saw license plates from all over the United States and people from all over the world. I have traveled so far to see things of interest and there is so much right in my own back yard.

I have been to Gettysburg several times but not to the wax museum. Next time, I will have to go. I want to take the ghost walk one of these days. We stayed at a farm B&B, but I do not remember the name of it. We stopped in a non planned trip with no reservations. We don't normally do that. Beautiful Grandaughters you have. Hope you have a good weekend.

I love visiting places like that filled with history. I've heard so much about Gettysburg in books and magazines and one day would love to travel there. Beautiful pictures and I think it's wonderful you were able to spend time with your sister and grandchildren:-) Happy Labour Day to you my friend. xoxo
I'm envious of all the great historical landmarks and museums you have in the east. I'd love to visit there sometime. I really enjoy American history.
Happy Labor Day!
Our son and his family just moved to Texas. Prior to that for a few years they lived only 15 minutes from Gettysburg in upper Maryland. I visited the battlefield when we lived in Pennsylvania. In recent years, I have enjoyed going to the outlets and Boyd's Barn there.
