Mom and Daddy's Wedding Presents and Gold Card Award

Mom was so proud of the Spode and crystal that she and Daddy received as wedding presents. She kept the Spode in the China closet. I can remember her washing it carefully in between uses. As she did, she would talk about her and Daddy's courtship, wedding, and honeymoon. Mom always used the Spode for holidays and special occasions. I inherited Mom's Spode and crystal and continue her tradition of using it. Somehow carrying on Mom's traditions makes me feel very close to Mom and Daddy.

Beautiful Donna from Donna's Den at http://deembee.blogspot.com/ presented me with the BFF Gold Card. Donna, thank you so much. I am proud to display the Gold Card on my sidebar.

Dear Sweetie,

I was stopping by for a visit this morning and had no idea that I would see my name! Thank you for the very sweet award. You are so dear.

Your Mother's china and crystal is so beautiful. What a treasure. I remember when I was first married and my husband and I had chosen our good china, my Mother made me promise that we would use it every Sunday, even if we were eating hot dogs. We were still in school at the time and that is exactly what we did. Every Sunday our Lennox china and Waterford crystal came out and we set the table with the only two place settings of sterling silver that we owned. Very often...it was either hot dogs or spaghetti.

Hello Sweetie, wanted you to know how much I admire your blog. It gave me chills though to read about your daughter. How cruel. I'm from a big family and my dad was from a family of 15, so family gatherings have always been a big event in my upbringing. I want to add you to my blog list if you don't mind. It is a beautiful blog you have made.

Hugs,
Chris

Hi dear Sweetie...I'm always so glad to drop by your blog and lo & behold I see you've given me an award...THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I'm so proud to read of the love behind your parent's treasures...wish I could have said the same...but my mother left my wonderful dad, my 2 brothers and me when I was only 7 years old...supposedly for the man of her dreams only to be dumped by him later on...what goes around comes around, huh?!
