Happy Blue Monday

Over the years I have gone through various decorating phases and themes. My apple phase was about 12 years ago after the second remodeling of our kitchen. I had one wall that was wallpapered in blue and white checks with an apple border. The valances on the kitchen curtains matched the wallpaper. I had apple tea towels, an apple clock, apple baskets, apple glasses, and about anything else you could imagine. My apple decor was all trimmed with blue. About the only thing left from that period is my set of apple dishes which I still love. The set has a blue accent color.

The big mug is wonderful for a steaming cup of coffee.

The bowl is the perfect size for some delicious home made soup.

The dinner plate is huge. I usually use this set of dishes when I have guests for lunch.

Christmas is past for this year but I'd like to share this lovely vase that my third grader Grandson Dawson lovingly made and so proudly gave to me. He had it wrapped beautifully. I can hardly wait for summer weather so I can use the vase to hold gorgeous flowers. In the meantime, I have it displayed on my hutch.

Those are so cute! My mom decorated her kitchen and dining area with green and red and apples. She passed away three years ago and sometimes I feel a pang when I see apple decorations in the store, but sometimes they make me smile, like yours did.

That's a sweet vase!

The vase is my very, very favorite. Be certain to tell this talented young man how much we all like his artwork. Now, you must show us later how it looks with flowers.

I love the vase your grandson made for you. I know you will keep it forever and display it proudly. I have three pieces, each made by one of my children in ceramics. They are displayed in my bookcases. I would not take anything for them. I love large dinner plates. I guess that is why I like my Bybee Pottery. The plates are huge. Your appleware is very pretty. Like those big cups, too.

What a lovely choice for Blue Monday! And I have apple wallpaper in my kitchen too :)

I also went through an apple phase. I decorated our family room with apples. All that remains is the lightswitch cover, which I still think is cute.

The vase is a treasure. The blue will surely stand out with whatever color flowers you display. I am picturing bright yellow blooms. Be sure to show us the vase in "action".
