Blue Monday

Another cold, icy Sunday in Pennsylvania. After church, I curled up on the sofa and watched television (something that I rarely do). The sofa and love seat are gray I have blue throw pillows on each and blue accents throughout the room.

It is so cozy covering up with this blue and white rag quilt that was handmade by Daughter Stephanie. She also made a rag quilt for our queen size bed. I'll share that quilt in an upcoming post.

A cup of herbal tea helped me to relax. This is one of a set of four cups that I bought from The Dollar Tree. The cup holds more coffee or tea than any other that we have.

This winter seems exceptionally long and cold. I am considering a trip to Florida to visit my best friend.

Sallie at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ hosts Blue Monday. Blue has always been my favorite color but I continue to be amazed by the blues displayed by my Dear Blogger Friends. Please visit Sallie to see the wide array of shades of blue. Thanks Sallie!!!

Sweetie, you have some pretty blue for us today! Love the pillows with their pop of blue on your sofa, and then that quilt! I'm a BIG quilt lover, and to know you precious one made it for you is even more special. And girl, you did good with those mugs. Don't you just love the Dollar Tree? It's my favorite store! :-)

Happy Blue Monday...

Hi Sweetie,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm so sorry to hear about your unexpected loss of your DH and the loss of your dear daughter. (Sending you cyber hugs.)

I'm happy to see you surrounded by family and I know that helps. Please stop back by any time. I love visitors and comments.

Did you know Just Ruthie is my own dear Mom? My grand baby is on some of the future posts. I may even put her on tonight.

Blessings,

Good Morning Miz Sweetie,
Loving your blue! And that quilt is simply sweet. I've been wanting to make a rag quilt for quite awhile and even have my fabric and batting, just haven't started it. I guess I'm afraid it's one more project I won't finish *smiles*

What a cozy set of blues. I love those blue pillows, and the rag quilt is both cute and cuddly. We haven't had much cold here in SC, at least not as much as usual for winter, but it was in the 20s this morning, so maybe we're getting it now.

I haven't followed your blog through the last couple months so I wasn't aware your DH had passed away. I noticed in other comments the mention of it so I just wanted to come back and offer my sympathies to you and your dear family and a prayer for continued comfort for you as you live through your loss...

I hope this isn't a continuation of your ice storm. The quilt is so nice and looks so comfy! If you decide to take a trip to Florida try to soak up some warmth and sunshine for me too!! Friends can warm us every bit as much in our hearts as a warm quilt and cup of tea can for our bodies. If you can't make the trip I hope you get to have a long chat with her on the phone.

Hi Sweetie,

Some very pretty choices for Blue Monday, and thank you for visiting me today. I would love to have you visit again any time you have the opportunity.

I was reading your profile and feel a need to comment on some very sad events that have happened in your life. Losing your husband must have been terrible, but I would think the way you lost your dear daughter must have been the worst thing that has ever happened to you. I just can't imagine having someone that close to you get murdered in such a fashion. And to think there has still not been an arrest. Such a sad thing to have happen.

I hope you will have a blessed week.

Happy Bleu Monday to you. What a wonderful rag quilt perfect to snuggle under. I love the little box filled with loving thoughts and messages that Stephanie also made...each one is like a gentle hug from her. Hugs, Linda

Sweetie, you are absolutely correct. It does seem like a long winter. . .and it's not over yet!

What a lovely quilt your daughter made for you. I just love it and would be happy to have one to cuddle up under myself on a cold winter's day.

Go ahead and take that trip to Florida. You've had a couple of extremely hard years and you could use a bit of R&R time now.

Blessings,

Oh, your quilt and sofa look like a perfect place, on a cold, wintery day. With Stephanie having made that quilt, it must be extra special. So glad you have a best friend in FL, at this time. That trip away, to be with your friend sounds like a wonderful idea.

Thinking of you today. :-)
