I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree...

Yesterday morning we woke up to this. The tree is next to a parking lot located at the bottom of our yard. We made a parking lot for our daughter who lives across the street from us and has a beauty salon. Fortunately, this happened before business hours. The tree missed our daughter's car and our pool. However - part of it fell on our neighbor's garage roof. We're hoping there is no damage and we will soon find out.
The neighborhood is buzzin'!!!

We decided that since we had to hire a tree service, we would have another tree cut down.

In the scheme of real life problems, this is merely an inconvenience.

I love your ferns on the porch. That has such a quaint southern charm. Too bad about the tree but I guess you made the best of it. Happy Bloomin' Tuesday!

The ferns are gorgeous! Are they old? That was a huge tree. What kind of tree is it? Any idea what caused the split?

Thank you for your sweet comment, sweetpea. I read your other blog and cried and cried about your daughter. I cannot even imagine the heartache of losing a child. BUT I do know this - you will see her again. Of that I have no doubt, absolutely NO DOUBT and if that is all you have to grasp upon to continue, then grasp it because I speak truth to you, my sweet mom. I've also heard that saying in church: The best gift a father can give his children is to love their mother. Isn't it sad that it isn't true with everyone in this world today? I know of what I speak since I've celebrated 47+ years with my Love Bunny and love him more each year. You have my absolutely deepest sympathy, honey.......
Smoochies,
Connie

Your ferns are so big and beautiful. Wow, that's a lot abuzz in your neighborhood! That must have been quite a surprise to wake up to that.

I couldn't help but notice your sidebar with the comment about your daughter. I don't have words, but know that my heart was so saddened. Just know that even a stranger can mourn a loss like that...

Each year about April 15 I buy my ferns. I usually buy four but this year got five. I have one on the back porch and four on the front porch. I have tried to keep a few inside at the end of the season but that just didn't work. My daughter is an adminstrative assistant at the County Career & Technology Center. She suggested that I donate them to the horticulture department. The students take care of them and it helps them to learn. The first time that my hubby delivered them in his pick-up they were astonished. The ferns took up the entire bed of the truck.
