To my Valentine

Always and Forever
You are my Valentine

Johnny - High School GraduationSweetie - High School Graduation

The Senior Prom - we were out all night.
I was only 17 - we ran off and got married. "They" said that it would never last.

We loved.
We danced.

In a hundred years from now
I know without a doubt
They'll all look back and wonder how
We made it all work out
Chances are
We'll go down in history
When they want to see
How true love should be
They'll just look at us

Hello Sweetie -
Thanks for stopping by yesterday - Nancy had told me some about you and I know how hard it will be for you today - not having your dear Johnnie nearby to celebrate Valentine's Day. I'm sure he is looking down on you and knowing you love him from afar these days.

Your family is just amazing, and another sweet baby girl has arrived I see - you are truly blessed.

Sending love -

Hi Sweetie, You were so lucky to have found your true love and soul mate. My parents were young teens when they were married - 53 years ago! Maybe that's the secret! Maybe you grow up together! What ever the secret - I wish you a Happy Valentine's Day! ~ Robyn

GM Sweetie,

I know you are lonely today. I empathize with you. This is also my first Valentine's Day without the love of my life. My thoughts and my prayers are with you today. What a blessing that we were loved by such wonderful men and will always have our memories. I loved your pictures and what could be more appropriate than the words from that Vince Gill song? You and Johnnie are True Love and that can never be taken from you. Warm hugs........

Diane

Oh Sweetie, you gave me goosebumps. Then when I read Bam Bam's comment it brought tears to my eyes. My middle daughter grew up being called Bam Bam. Because she broke, crashed, crushed every thing she touched. LOL

Hugs,

A wonderful tribute to your dear husband, soul mate and friend. I have just read your comment on my post (re the poem about dogs posted Tuesday last week). And I wanted to share my story with you. Richard, my husband of 31 years, passed away five years ago after the unexpected diagnosis of a brain tumour. After brain surgery he went into a coma and died six week later. We were kindred spirits! My dear labradors were first and foremost his dogs. And his legacy to me (among many other things). The dogs kept me going in simple practical ways - like getting out of bed to take them for a walk every day. My heart goes out to you, my friend. May God strengthen and comfort you! You have such an amazing family too! Love from Thatchwick.

Sweetie:
Thanks for stopping by. Enoch actually left 18 journals so his history is vast. His journal entries can be documented by historical church documents and to me that makes it even more fascinating bz you know he wasn't embellishing anything and these events happened just as he depicted them. I love finding out about my ancestors. What part of Illinois did your father come from? Since all my ancestors left by the 1850s or so I know we wouldn't be related but I was just curious. Have a great Sunday.

Hi Sweetie:
Now we can add one more thing to our list. When I just turned 18, Bill and I eloped. We were married for 35 years when he died.
I love the high school pictures and I can see you in Sherry. I love this entry and the song. I love Vince Gill. I hope you have a good visit today with Haylee.
Love Nancy

Sweetie...I had to comment on this beautiful post...I've been involved with the "other man" in my life this weekend...my only grandson so I'm late in getting around...but thank goodness I didn't miss this post... yours & Johnny's picture should be in the dictionary under LOVE...not only were you the LOVE of each other's lives...you created a wonderful, loving family together...which unbeknownst to either of you at the time, would someday sustain the one left behind...it was God's plan I have no doubt. Hugs, ♥ Bo

For some reason after I read this post, the song "Young Love" from the 50s came to my mind and it's still there. So many times marriages like this do not work out, I'm glad yours did. The grandbaby in the post below is so sweet. There must be a reason you are called "Sweetie".
Happy Sweetie Day.
