Michele's Second Quilt

The Quilt
Michele is now an expert. This is the second quilt that she made (already). Each square is from a piece of Sherry's clothing. There are also some buttons on this quilt. Michele tied the yarn through them. The quilt is beautiful and a true work of love. Michele never used a sewing machine until a week ago on Saturday.

Our beautiful daughter, Sherry Jo's, birthday was yesterday. Johnny teased her incessantly because she was born on Ground Hog's Day. Of course, living in Pennsylvania, Sherry grew up knowing about Punxatawney Phil. Johnny used to make up songs and sing them to her. She would laugh and laugh.
I haven't been blogging as much as I would like. I am now overwhelmed with business matters and other activities in which I am involved. Blogging is one of my favorite past times. I consider each of you a friend and you have all been so supportive of me during this difficult time. You are the ones that put a smile on my face. Within the next month, I should be back to posting more frequently.

I'm sure you're busy with things... and hope you can still find some time to keep up with at least some blogging, even if it's just a short post. :)

That didn't take Michele very long, did it? It's a beautiful quilt and a nice tribute to your Sherry Jo. I like her picture in the middle. You're going through a very difficult time, and you are doing an amazing job of it.

That is a nice thing to do to remember Sherry. I wish I had kept my Daddy's ties to use in a quilt.

I just love the little profile photo of you that came up when you left a comment over at my blog. Sometimes, it's easier to visit than to post...at least that's what I've found. I love the quilt made in honor of your daughter. I'm sure she had a great birthday with her dad in Heaven! Also think it's a great picture of Pap & you on the sidebar.

You wrote that blogging was a: "past time". I think you got it right. I haven't blogged in months due to the real life issues that I am dealing with. I wish I had time to return. When I checked in-as I do periodically-I found your wonderful quilt post. I love the idea. After losing our daughter in an accident when she was sixteen, I have never been able to quite let go of her clothing. Some of her baby clothes and things she wore to school are still here in the house. Perhaps you have given me a way to deal with some of those things. The quilt is a loving memorial and a precious treasure. May it give you comfort. I am farther along the road than you are in my walk with grief. Just know that easier days are coming, and remembering with more joy than sorrow is possible. Peace to you.

That quilt is absolutely beautiful and just knowing that Michelle used pieces of Sherry's clothing makes it that much more special. For a gal who just started using a sewing machine, she's doing a mighty fine job:-) Wow!

It couldn't have been an easy day for you to get through yesterday, my heart goes out to you. A mother should never have to go through the death of a child. Big hugs sent your way. xoxo

Thank you so very much, for "coming by" and leaving the sweet comment.

I've just taken a few moments to browse through your site. My I extend my deepest sympathies for the loss of your daughter. As a mother (my husband and I have 10 children - but you have us beat with grand children - we only have #14 on the way)I can't even begin to imagine the pain you have had to deal with.

The quilt is just wonderful. I hope that it was a healing project for you.

I'm looking forward to coming back and visiting again.

What a wonderful thoughtful memory quilt. She did a great job especially for being so new to sewing. I haven't been around too much either lately but that's how life cycles isn't it? Take care and I'll keep checking in from time to time. Real life has to come before our blogging life some times, LOL! Take care Sweetie and I'll see you soon.

Michele really has it going on! I bet she never knew just how talented she was!

I am sure that working through all the paper work and things is mind boggling to say the least. I pray that the Lord gives you the strength and fortitude to push ahead. You have such lovely daughters who are there for you and who need you.

Take your time in getting things in order. We will be here when you get back.
